SUMMER SEASON ANNOUNCED AT CURTAIN CALL
This summer marks the 5th annual free Shakespeare on the Green presentation for the Stamford Theatre Company. Their production of ROMEO AND JULIET, directed by Peter Barbieri, Jr., will be performed on their own version of The Globe Theatre stage on the great lawn at Sterling Farms from July 11 through 18. “As we have for the past four years, we’ll be offering a great, family-friendly production of one of the best-known works of literature in the world,” said Ursone.

Later in the summer, Curtain Call’s annual summer youth theatre presentation will showcase the work of Dr.ss – with the musical comedy, SEUSSICAL. Featuring area performers age 10 through 21, SEUSSICAL will play 12 performances in the air-conditioned Kweskin Theatre, August 6 through 17. Students from all over Fairfield and nearby Westchester counties audition each summer to be a part of these productions. The works of Dr. Seuss will be used as a base for the SummerStock Jr. performance workshops. Curtain Call offers four separate two-week, full-day workshop sessions throughout the summer: SummerStock for ages 11-16 and SummerStock Jr. for ages 6 – 11. All classes are held at The Sterling Farms campus with a wide variety of teaching artists.

New Summer Musical Theater Program for Children ages 9 – 14
Windham Theater Guild announces it will host a spectacular new musical theater program for children ages 9 – 14 this summer.
The Guild has teamed with the Los Angeles-based Ives Street Entertainment to offer a S.M.A.R.T., one-week, intensive daf camp for young performers. The program will run August 11 – 15 at The Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main St, Willimantic CT 06226.
S.M.A.R.T. is designed to help each participant grow at a pace he or she feels comfortable with. Through fun and engaging exercises, age-appropriate teaching techniques, materials and a dedicated staff of professionals, this workshop will enrich children’s learning experience.
Tuition for the week-long camp is $325. Register before May 15 and save $25.

Summer Theatre Intensive and Apprentice Program - Summer Theatre of New Canaan
The Summer Theatre of New Canaan (STONC), a regional summer theater located in New Canaan Connecticut will sponsor a six-week theatre intensive for high school students interested in pursuing a professional career in the performing arts. The apprentice program will run from Monday, June 23rd - Thursday, July 31st. This will include professional training in acting styles including Shakespearean Verse, Musical Theatre, and Theatrical Clowning. In addition to acting training, participants will learn the tools for creating a show from page to stage by taking workshops and master classes in adapting, directing, stage management, design and producing as well as helping on STONC's shows. This intensive will culminate in a performance created by the participants with the guidance of the professional faculty.
The apprentice program is directed by Christian Libonati (founding member of Chicago's Filament Theatre Ensemble, professional actor / producer, graduate of Northwestern University and NCHS), the faculty will be made up of New York and Chicago theatre professionals, Broadway performers current and veteran, as well as members of the casts and production teams working on STONC's season: Twelfth Night, Shakespeare for kids, Six Impossible Things, and The Music Man.

Experience the fun, the challenge, the excitement of a TriArts Musical Theatre Performance Workshop. Extended day (10- 5) with theatre pros will benefit students of all levels. Students' acting, singing and dancing skills will be developed while rehearsing Anything Goes (pend. rights). Workshop will culminate in a performance on TriArts' Main Stage at the Sharon Playhouse. The class will attend TriArts production of Camelot and meet the actors afterwards.

Stage Combat and Martial Arts for Theatre

A dynamic intro into stage combat, stunt work, and mixed martial arts including Capoeira, (pronounced cappo/wara) a Brazilian dance martial art. Learn the difference between real martial arts and what we see on TV and in film. You'll put together skits incorporating martial arts and fight choreography which will be videotaped to get a taste of Hollywood!
Broadway Revue Song & Dance Workshop
Two Weeks: June 30 to July 11; 10am - 3 pm $450 Ages 8 - 18 Sharon Center School Instructors: Heather Holohan and Joshua Stone
Each student will work on a solo song and dance performance specially selected for them, in addition to ensemble numbers, culminating in a Broadway Revue on the final day. Voice, dance and acting skills will be honed. The class will attend TriArts' production of Camelot as a group and meet the actors afterwards.
Creative Dramatics
