LONG WHARF THEATRE LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

Long Wharf Theatre is pleased to announce the unveiling of a new website, one that is intended to be yet another extension of the theatre’s artistic excellence.

The new website went live on August 4 after several months of planning and design. “Our patrons will love our new site – it’s easier to use and much more informative and full of interesting features. This long-overdue upgrade was made possible by the generous donations from two extraordinary members of the theatre’s Honorary Council, and we thank them for it, and I’m sure we’ll grow to appreciate it more and more as we all discover what this great new tool for communication and direct feedback is capable of,” said Ray Cullom, Long Wharf Theatre’s managing director.

The website was designed by Think Creative Group, based in New Haven. "Working with Long Wharf Theatre has been wonderful. Their team knew exactly what they wanted...and what they didn't (no more black background, please!). During our strategic review and planning, our teams decided to focus on creating a new site that truly communicated the full breadth of what Long Wharf Theatre has to offer on stage and off,” said Ali Parmelee, co-owner of Think Creative Group.

Think Creative Group worked closely with theatre staff to create a website that was both easy and allowed for more interactivity. “They wanted a very visual site that highlighted upcoming shows, news, embedded videos, a blog and always offered multiple ways to purchase tickets and support the theatre. And most of all, Long Wharf Theatre wanted to be able to update their site with a robust Content Management System so that they could always keep their site's visitors up-to-date with the most current information. Our collaboration has resulted in a clean, easy to use, intuitive and darn snazzy website. We hope everyone agrees!" Parmelee said.

This is the third website in Long Wharf Theatre history. The first, which went live in the mid-90s, functioned as a simple white table, primarily composed of text. That original website can be found at the Internet Archive Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/19970111021048/www.longwharf.org/index.html.  The second website, posted in 1999, was known for its black background.
