TRIARTS Announces 2010 Summer Season
TriArts Sharon Playhouse announces its 2010 Summer Season line-up. Sort of. TriArts can’t tell you the title of the opening show yet due to licensing restrictions, but if you’ve ever danced at a wedding, had your heart broken, or found true love, you’ll be charmed by this musical tale. Based on an Adam Sandler film, this pop musical that brings excitement, romance and 1980’s style music together in a hilarious, ‘dancy’ , dynamic explosion of musical theatre fun, and runs from June 24th through July 11, 2010.
The 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee is the laugh-out-loud, quirky musical about six “adolescent” outsiders vying for the Spelling Bee championship of a lifetime. The two-time Tony winner can be seen July 16 through July 25th.
Oklahoma!, the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that set the standard for all musicals opens August 7th and runs through August 22nd. This lush family show features such favorites as “Oh What a Beautiful Morning”, “Surrey with the Fringe on Top,” and, of course, “Oklahoma!”
Artistic Director Michael Berkeley’s annual Diva Concert, a unique-to-TriArts showcase of talented women, takes the stage this summer with Divas Do (More) Broadway running three performances only August 27th, 28th and 29th.
TriArts Sharon Playhouse is a not-for-profit theatre, located in Litchfield County, Sharon, CT. Using a unique blend of professional designers, directors, musicians, Equity and non-Equity professionals, along with dedicated community performers and volunteers, TriArts mounts three to four main stage productions each summer season as well as several special events.
